This article is about Chiefs of the Southwest region in Cameroon, who want entry requirements into the University of Buea, UB, rewritten to blot out the specification that Anglophones must pass the English Language in the Ordinary level GCE, before they can be admitted into UB. The Chiefs argue that its unfair for the anglophones, as opposed to francophones who just have to write a test after weeks of English classes.

The University of Buea, UB, has readjusted its admissions criteria after coming under scathing criticism from the Southwest Chiefs Conference, SWECC. The Executive of SWECC chastised the University authorities for harsh admission rules that were considered to be discriminatory against students of the English Speaking expression in Cameroon.
