Niger: Mohamed Bazoum Becomes New President

Niger’s former Interior Minister and candidate of the ruling PNDS party, Mohamed Bazoum has been declared winner of the country’s Presidential elections. The country’s Electoral Commission (CENI) had declared him winner of Sunday’s run-off polls with 55,75 percent, against 44,25 percent for his opponent, Mahamane Ousmane.
