Cameroon: Recent Fire Outbreaks in Fako Expose Fire Services’ Inadequacies

We are still in the second month of the year 2021, but Fako Division alone has already witnessed at least a quarter of a dozen deadly fire incidents. These fire incidents have claimed lives as well as enormous property damage on the part of the victims. These incidents have raised the question of responsibility, demanding who bear the burden of the losses suffered by the population. Many denizens in some of the affected towns like Tiko and Buea have pointed to the lack of emergency services...
