The 15th edition of the festival to promote local dishes and sell the Cameroonian cuisine to the rest of the world has been scheduled under the patronage of Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Chief Joseph Dion Ngute. It will run fromMarch 25th-27th 2020.
The festival takes place yearly. This year’s edition is to hold under the theme: Gastronomy:vector for Cameroon’s international influence.
According to the organizers of the grand festival, there shall be debates as well as workshops which will be in relation to the theme. The organizers also said they are looking for other better ways to sell the Cameroonian cuisine to the rest of the world.
They equally revealed that the objective of the festival is to, take visitors through the various dishes that can be offered from the four corners of Cameroon.
The program reveals that the first two days of the festival week will be set aside for food tasting, pedagogic visits, mini-concerts,the setting up of a museum for Cameroonian dishes, animation and the acquisition of knowledge surrounding Cameroonian dishes.
Meantime, organizers are soliciting the technical knowledge of experts from the Ministry of External Relations. They are calling on the experts to share with them best practices from other parts of the world that can help boost the holding of this festival.
The festival is also scheduled to be a source of employment to those faced with joblessness. It equally looks forward to building a strong gastronomical industry in Cameroon by organizing open door days at training centers as wellas in hotels and hospitality facilities.
Before crowning the festival with a gala on the last day, all those who have contributed in the Cameroonian gastronomical circle will be honored.
