The Bank of Central African State - BEAC has revealed that in the second quarter of this year, 2021, Cameroon will be a booster in the agricultural production of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community – CEMAC.

Cameroonian short-cycle food products

This boost by the Central African country will be recorded between April and June 2021. In the CEMAC region there will be a rise in crop production as portrayed on BEAC’s recently published Q2-2021 business cycle analysis report.

This improvement which will be enforced by Cameroonian farmers will be of great importance to some neighboring countries that usually purchase food products from Cameroon. Such countries include CAR, Equatorial Guinea as well as Congo.

The report acknowledges that, "Although the security and health situation in some of the member countries may affect production”,   with the coming of rains, “the abundance of short-cycle food products in Cameroon will support the sector.” Some of these products will include; cassava, corn, yams, and plantain.

There will be enough of these products in the Cameroonian markets, BEAC indicated.
