"The official launch of SIGIF2 is an important sectoral advance. Although it is criticized by some partners particularly because of the origin of its developers and the slow development process, it will help the Ministry of Forest and Wildlife decisively addresses some of the issues found during the dematerialization process."

Cameroon: MINOF Ignores German Cooperation, European Union, Launches SIGIF2

Cameroon’s Ministry of Forest and Wildlife - MINOF is confident about the efficiency of the 2nd generation Forest Information Management System - SIGIF2 as has ignored the refusal by the German Corporation and European Union and has launched it.

MINOF Minister

It was on April 1st, 2021 that the Cameroonian Ministry of Forest and Wildlife - MINOF launched the 2nd generation Forest Information Management System - SIGIF2.  Since felling taxis will increase by 25-30% as each forestry operator’s real taxable forestry production will be checked taking into account timber supply sources, forest taxes will increase, the ministry believes.

According to MINOF, this new forest information management system will be a booster to revenues.
