Inter Ministerial Meeting


After six months of break, members of the Inter Ministerial Committee to monitor Government’s Response Strategy against COVOD-19 have met in the Nation’s Political Capital, Yaounde.

The meeting held on Thursday March 4th 2021 at the Star Building. It was chaired by the Prime Minister Head of Government Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute.

It was prompted by the sudden resurgence of the COVID-19 virus within the country. Following recent reports from different health districts across the country, this second wave of the virus is more serious and needs systematic follow up it must be combated.

In the face of the rising threats, government has recommended systematic testing as one of the additional measures to combat the virus as well as mitigate its propagation.

The different sectors of the country are called upon to scale up the fight against the virus by respecting the various barrier measures as well as encouraging testing among the people.

While the population remains lukewarm regarding these preventive measures, officials are insisting on the need for the population to wear face masks and respect social distancing.
