Douala-Yaoundé railway line Reconstruction-CCAA Issues Call for Expression of Interest

A call for expression of interest for technical studies in the reconstruction of the Douala-Yaoundé railway line has been issued by the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority – CCAA.

Aimed at improving the performance of the Douala-Ndjamena Rail-Road Corridor, the reconstruction is part of the regional project PCDN and the selected consultant will carry out a detailed study for the renewal of the current infrastructure on the Douala-Yaoundé section, according to the procurement notice.


Reducing costs and transport delays on the Douala-Ndjamena corridor via optimization of the logistics chain and competitiveness of transport and transit services is the objective behind this very Regional Project PCDN.


Reports show that the closest project in importance to the reconstruction of this railway is the completed 175km Batschenga-Ka'a section. So this project which covers over 250 kilometers are the most important reconstruction Cameroon has ever carried out.

Camrail Yde-Dla

It was in preparation for the acquisition of railroad vehicle to reduce passenger train delays on the railway line that connects Yaoundé to Douala that the reconstruction of the Batschenga-Ka'a section was carried out. About forty kilometers of tracks at the entrances to Douala and Yaoundé were equally renewed as extension of the Batschenga-Ka'a reconstruction project.
