Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert who were relieved of their duties as head coach and assistant of the Indomitable Lions respectively, have met favor from the World Football governing body – FIFA.

Through the Cameroon Football Federation – FECAFOOT, FIFA has ordered Cameroon football authorities to pay the sum of 397Millions FCFA to former coaches Clarence Seedorf and assistant Patrick Kluivert.

It was following a disappointing 2019 AFCON performance that in August 2019 on the orders of Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, that the two were relieved off duty.

Though both coaches demanded to be paid close to a billion FCFA, the government of Cameroon argued on the subject. However, based on FIFA’s ruling, while Seedorf receives 206 Million FCFA, Kluivert will be paid 191 Million FCFA. Meantime, Minister Mouelle Kombi has effected the payment, according to reports.

In the football sector of Cameroon, the unlawful termination of contracts of coaches and even players is very rampant. It should be recalled that a list of ex-Indomitable trainers were recently paid a hefty compensations for the same cause.

Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi,

The statement announcing the layoff of Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert from FECAFOOT read, “After consultations from the one hand with members of the executive committee, and with the Minister of Sports and physical education, following the premature exit of the male National football team, the indomitable lions the Cameroon Football Federation….puts an end to the functions of Head coach Clarence Seedorf and Deputy coach Patrick Kluivert..”

After Minister Mouelle Kombi questioned qualities of the technical bench saying he had instructed Fecafoot to analyze the severance clause on Seedorf’s contract for a final decision, it did not take up to 24 hours for the two to be sacked.
