Reports show that the Government of Cameroon has planned that by 2025, the University of Yaoundé II will become a Techno Center of Excellence in Social Sciences.
It is to this effect that today December 14th in Yaoundé, political capital of Cameroon, a validation workshop was held. It was chaired by Jacque Fame Ndongo, the Minister of Higher Education.
Minister Jacque Fame Ndongo during the workshop explained the Strategic Development Plan towards the set project for 2025.
The said university located in the outskirt of Yaoundé in the neighborhood of Soa, specializes in the teaching and research of social sciences through two branches: Economics, Law and Political Sciences, and Communication and Information Technologies.
Founded in 1961, the University of Yaoundé II emerged from the former University of Yaoundé. It counts with a student body of nearly 30,000, as well as 316 teachers and 480 administrative staff. The Faculty of Economics and Management, offers various programs at the Bachelor's, Master's, DEA/DESS and PhD levels to a student body of 11 000 students.
