She was speaking during the interministerial visit to the Kumba massacre scene in the South West Region of Cameroon.

The government officials led by the Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Ngi made their different points as they condoled with the families suffering from the effects of the Saturday October 24th massacre at the Mother Francisca International Academy Fiango.

“I am coming to mourn with you as a Minister of Secondary Education but at the same time I am carrying a strong message: to be positive. Those children are not there again. We cannot continue to mourn and leave our place to those fellows who are causing this sadness. I am coming with a strong message: you cannot let school not happen because if you do, you have given away the strongest thing that you can ever do to your families,” Minister Lyonga said

“When they kill these children and we sit down and mourn them, what stories will we tell our children tomorrow? What will you tell that you do when your child was killed? …our fore fathers told stories of great deeds, what stories will you tell them?” MINESEC Boss added.

The long and short of it was to tell parents to maintain resilience and send their children to school.

The team also met with protesting mothers who turned out in their numbers to decry the atrocities they have suffered in the course of the Anglophone crisis. They were assured of maximum security and also urged to denounce any such incidents.

They urged the inhabitants of the area to work in collaboration with security forces and administrative authorities to fast track the perpetrators of atrocities in their community.
