Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute is representing President Paul Biya today, October 27th, 2020 in Congo Brazzaville at an International Colloquium to which the Head of State was invited.
The Colloquium is meant to celebrate the contribution of Brazzaville to the actions of General Charles de Gaulle during the 2nd World War.
PM Dion Ngute arrived in Brazzaville yesterday, October 26th, 2020. He was welcomed by both Congolese and Cameroonian officials.
The event is to officially open today and will be attended by Heads of State of the Central African Sub Region as well as officials of the De Gaulle Foundation. Meanwhile, PM Dion Ngute will be one of the guest speakers at the opening ceremony.
On September 12th, 2020, Cameroon’s Head of State received the invitation to partake in this colloquium. The invitation was brought over by the Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean Claude Gakosso.
“I received a special invitation from Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso to attend a major colloquium in Brazzaville on 24 October 2020, delivered by Jean Claude Gakosso - Minister of Foreign Affairs,” President Biya tweeted.
Cameroonians took to the social media crossing fingers on whether the Head of State will honor the invitation in person or send a representative, as has been the case in most cases. The doubt is thus settled as the PM is representing the head of State at the event.
