Hundreds of Christians in the Kumbo Diocese this October 20th, 2020 turned out at the Kumbo Cathedral to pray for the return of peace in Cameroon and their land in particular.

Bishop of Kumbo Diocese lead christians in a peaceful walk and holy mass for return to peace

The people were led by their Bishop Mgr. George Nkuo who organized this solidarity session for the people to practically show express their desire to God through Holy Mass, a peaceful and prayerful walk.

The population from the different quarters marched to the Cathedral carrying peace plants and reciting the Holy Rosary with one intention: “Let Peace Reign especially in Kumbo.”

Before the Holy Mass at the Cathedral, the Bishop blessed the pilgrims and their peace plants then led them in a procession into the cathedral for the Prayers.

In his homily, the Bishop Nkuo preached on peace and harmony among the people calling on “all, of whatever political, social and religious inclination to be peace lovers, peace promoters, peace builders and supporters of peace plans and strategies in the community.”

After the prayers, everyone returned home peacefully with hope for a change that they believe can only come from the Almighty God in whom they all put their trust.

Since the escalation of the Anglophone crisis in 2016, Kumbo has been on the spotlight as the hardest-hit by the arm conflict. They have recorded enormous to loss of lives, property and the displacement of a great number of the population.

The prayers coupled with the recent cleansing rights on the land that were performed by the traditional elders of the community in preparation for the expected return of the Fon of Nso, Sehm Mbinglo I who has been away for over three years now.

The deepest prayer of every soul left in Kumbo now if to once more enjoy the peace that they had as one people before the start of this crisis.
