Cameroon: Sports Minister Urges for Continuous Maintenance of Stadia until Holding of CHAN 2021

Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has continued his inspection tour to stadia that will host the African Nations Football championship (CHAN) 2021 which is to take place in three months to come.

The minister has urged all local stakeholders responsible for the organization of the championship to remain mobilized and committed to the start of the competition.

Yesterday, October 14th, 2020 while at the Limbe stadium which was reportedly ready for over months now, Minister Kombi, said there is still work to do as he inspected both the stadium and accommodation centers.

The Minister was accompanied by top members of the committee charged with the organization of the championship as well other officials of the ministry.

“Three months to this competition, I think that it is necessary for all the stakeholders to be mobilized and do everything possible for the success of this important competition,” the minister said.

Commenting on the issue of getting the sites ready, the minister stressed that it is important to continue with the necessary maintenance works until the time of the competition.

“Maintenance is important and we have to address some important issues to be sure that up to January, all will be ok for this Championship,” minister Kombi added.

Stadia in Cameroon

The Minister will be visiting the Douala stadia today, Thursday October 15th, 2020 for this same purpose of ensuring an up-to-standard delivery of the sites.
