State Universities, Higher Institutes Open Admissions for 2020/2021 Academic Year

According to the available statistics, over 420,000 university students are awaited in school after the Covid-19 break and the vacation during which they are assumed to have learnt to adapt to the health crisis.

However, the institutions are supposed to take absolute control over the sanitary situation of the learning centers by ensuring some mitigation measures against the propagation of the virus.

For authorities at the University of Yaounde 1 say all is set to fight against the virus as the institution begins admission into the various faculties.

Meanwhile, sensitization notices have been pasted at strategic points on campus with the wearing of face masks underlined as obligatory.

On the part of the students who are struggling to secure a space in the different fields, it will be a challenging year of studies with the different measures put in place but they are ready to go along.

However, a security man at the entrance gate of the campus says the job is tedious on his part regarding the wearing of the masks. Though no one is allowed on campus without a mask, he has to tirelessly remind all those entering to put on one.

Wearing the face mask seems to just be a pass to gain access into the campus as many are still found within the school without their face masks on.

Resuming studies with extreme sanitation control measures in place will be a challenge for all learners this year but government authorities are more than determined to see that all learning centers are up to the standards required for a healthy environment.
