A native of Nso, Bui Division of the North West Region of Cameroon, Vanessa Fonyeh, 22, popularly known as Vanithels Khalifa emerged pioneer winner of Biggy237, Cameroon’s TV reality show 2020.
Khalifa is a fashion designer, stylist, actress, and model. She contested with eight other finalists (Nerisa Akere, Zita Minaj, Blanche, Victor, Branny, Claire, Tjay and Popsy) over a cash prize of FCFA 10million to be accompanied by accompanied by a car and a free trip to Dubai, which she won.
However, Zita Minaj emerged first runner up, taking home an encouragement prize of FCFA 1million while Nerisa Akere was second runner up with FCFA 500,000 cash prize.
Going by voting percentages, the finalists appeared as follows: Vanithels (37.0%); Zita (30.5%); Nerisa (12.8%); Blanche (11.9%); Victor (3.8%); Popsy (2.0%); Claire (1.2%); Tjay (0.5%) and Branny (0.4%).
After winning the show, Kalipha took to her Facebook Page expressing gratitude to her supporters and to Biggy237. “Thank you all, thank you so much. Thank you Biggy237,” she said.
Biggy237 began on August 2nd, 2020 in the Economic Capital, Douala, with 25 contestants who went through games and contests that saw the eviction of 16 inmates.
The show ended on Saturday October 4th, 2020 with nine finalists among whom Kalipha turned out best with highest votes.
Despite some drawbacks witnessed during this maiden edition of the Biggy237 reality show, the organizers are more determined to expand their capability and realize a befitting show in the next season. Meanwhile, registration for season two of the show is pending.
