For the fifth edition of the International Urban Music Award in Cote d’Ivoire-PRIMUD, five Cameroonians have been nominated.

Gunning for 45 trophies available in the 28 categories are 288 artistes who have been nominated for this year’s edition which is scheduled to hold this weekend in Abidjan, capital of the country. It will be held under the theme “peace and social cohesion.”

Five Cameroonians nominated include, Stanley Enow, Daphne, Blanche Bailly, Tenor, and KO-C are all nominated in the same category, the Best Francophone Central African category. It was just last weekend that Stanley Enow dropped a new single.

These nominees from Cameroon are up against Fally Ipupa, Inoss B, Robinio Mundibu, Gaz Mawete and Ferre Gola, from Democratic Republic of Congo. On the category is also Shanl, Gabon superstar.

It should be recalled that Tenor was the winner of the prize in this category last year. His fans believe that he will still be crowned with the prize this year. However his competitors and own fans are putting in more voting efforts to take the trophy home.

In Abidjan prior to the event, there will a two-day festival in prelude to the award ceremony so as to bring together local and international artistes.

Meanwhile as 40 percent of the votes will come from SMS, 40 percent is to be from the Jury and the remaining 20 percent from online voting.
