To prevent the importation of new cases of the coronavirus, Cameroon for the past months shot its airspace to all but business flights.

After his inspection tour at the Nsimalen airport, PM Dion Ngute said it looks ready to reopen all its flights.

“I have just gone through the circuits of those who are travelling and those who are arriving into the country. The social distancing measures and other hygiene measures have been taken. They are been tested now...we will require a certificate to show that people are free from the virus,” the PM told the press.

He added that “all the conditions are present to ensure that we are not going to import the virus into the country.”

“I think these measures give us the necessary confidence to advice and report to the head of state for him to be able to check the necessary measures to open our frontiers for international air travel,” the head of government affirmed.
