A 42-year-old woman has reportedly poisoned to death her own four children aged between two and eight years in Naivasha, Nakuru County, Kenya.
It was in the afternoon of Saturday, June 27th, 2020 near the Naivasha High school that the bodies of the four children were found locked in their house.
According to sources, it was their own mother who shortened their lives as she poisoned them on the evening of Friday, June 26th, 2020.
After committing this unimaginable act of murder, she is said to have flee to Kayole, the neighboring estate, where she was eventually arrested. A Security source said, "We have a sad story where a woman has allegedly poisoned her four children through poisoning and we have arrested her and collected the bodies,"
Jackson Kimani, the brother to the suspected killer of her own children worked with an NGO but because of COVID-19, she was laid off work about two months ago. As a result, he added that since she could not afford to feed her four children, it left her stressed. Nevertheless, they never knew it could get to a stage like this-killing own four children.
Following the act, she had commented on social media-Family WhatsApp, which caught the attention of the family that something was not right. "We knew something was amiss due to some comments she had posted on social media and on coming to enquire we found that she had killed the four children," the brother indicated.
As for neighbors, they said they became suspicious when the house remained locked and children did not come out to play. "The minors were very jovial and we are trying to come to terms with their death and what could have driven this woman to commit such an incident," Andrew Opiyo, a neighbor said.
