The entire body of English Speaking Journalists in Cameroon, CAMASEJ had expressed fears over their hidden colleague, Samuel Ajiekah Abuwe, pidgin news broadcaster who was arrested since August 2019 and has refused permission to be seen.

Accused of collaboration with separatist fighters in the ongoing Anglophone Crisis, Abuwe’s court hearing is scheduled today Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Fako High Court in Buea, North West Region of Cameroon.

After been denied the chance to apply for a bail according to sources, his case had been adjourned for about eight times, all of which took place in the absence of the accused. This explains why his welfare was feared as reports show that since his arrest, his whereabouts has remained unknown to his family, lawyer, colleagues and friends.

This hearing comes after CAMASEJ  had launched an online campaign demanding justice for their colleague and had hoped that he be released amongst the 300 prisoners who were granted amnesty by the Head of States due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
