The Douala II Public Security Police have arrested some family members in the Littoral region for exhuming corps of their late father who reportedly died of coronavirus and had been buried by hospital officials.
For excuse of wanting to give their late father a befitting traditional burial, they had taken to the cemetery where they dug off the remains of their father who had been buried following the prescribed preventive conditions that are meant to mitigate the propagation of the deadly virus.
Unfortunately for them, they were apprehended by police forces just before they took off with the exhumed corps.
While the government and health experts are closely working to make the population understand how deadly the virus can be, many Cameroonians still find it difficult to accept that their relatives can die of it. Some have blamed dead of their people to wrong diagnoses, claiming their patient was sick of something else, not the virus.
