Ronaldinho, Former Barcelona star who was arrested alongside his brother in Paraguay a month ago for trying to use a comical fake passport to enter into the country and detained has been released from prison to house arrest.

The two brothers have been held in jail for over a month now but relief has come after they reportedly managed to post bail and will be under house arrest.

According to sources, their release follows a deposit of $1.6million as bail and they are both under house arrest in a hotel in the capital of Paraguay, Asuncion. Still under house arrest triggers fear that the Barcelona star’s worries are not yet over.

Following his arrest news went wild that back in his home country, Brazil, Ronaldinho’s 57properties were seized by the authorities to whom till date, and he owes an unpaid tax of over 2million euros.

According to Brazilian media, the tax was for constructing an unauthorized pier at the edge of a lake in a protected area. It was following his failure in 2018 to pay this tax, that his country deprived him of a Brazilian passport.

Fans have blamed his brother, who is his business manager. They believe that he is highly at fault for all that that football star is facing today. They argue that if the manager brother had done his job while Ronaldinho was following his career, things won’t have taken this turn.

Nevertheless, behind bars, the Barca star enjoyed some privileges like his having his phone. While there, his former Barca captain, Carles Puyol, gave him a surprised call, which excited him and even gave him hope.

Given that he and brother are still under house arrest seems like trial might still take place.
